OYO STATE State Governor, Seyi Makinde, And River State Governor Nyesom Wike, and three aggrieved Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have left Nigeria for Spain.
ELIO REPORT that the other aggrieved governors include Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), and Samuel Ortom (Benue).
The four state Governors posed for a photograph at the International Airport, Omagwa in Ikwerre Local Government Area, early on Saturday morning before jetting out to Madrid Spain in a private jet.
A top party chieftain in the state who pleaded anonymity confirmed the trip to Newsmen on Saturday.
It was learnt Enugu Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, might join the team later.
ELIO REPORT understands that the latest meeting between the G-5 governors came barely 24 hours after Wike’s media briefing.
PDP Can’t Win Presidential Election Without Me – Wike
Wike made the statement during the media chat he made it declared that the PDP can not win the coming 2023 presidential election without his input.
Governor Wike noted that if he and the other four Governors in his camp decide to leave PDP, the party will lose.
The camp of the Rivers State Governor has been calling for the resignation of the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu.
Governor Wike noted that he and his allies are committed to making a positive impact in the party.
The PDP governor boasted that some states won by the main opposition party were achieved through his financial support.
He warned that the PDP would not continue acting the way they are if they want to win the 2023 election.
Wike said, “If I leave the party today, PDP cannot win the election. If the five PDP governors say they are leaving today, we are not just ordinary governors, we are very committed and strong.
“There is nobody that want to win election and still continue the way they are doing. I have supported many states financially to win election in the past, including Plateau, Ondo, Cross Rivers and they cannot deny it
