The PDP accuses APC for misrule in Yobe – The party vows to return to power soon – The PDP has never won a gubernatorial election in Yobe The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lashed out at the All Progressives Congress (APC) and described that the party is worse than Boko Haram. Information Nigeria reports that the PDP in Yobe state said the misrule of the state by other parties was worse than the destruction caused by Boko Haram insurgency.
Adamu Maina Waziri who is a former minister of police made this claim when he led a delegation of party chieftains from Yobe on a courtesy visit on the party’s national chairman, Ali Modu Sheriff, in Abuja. He said: “We have two insurgency in Yobe; we have the Boko Haram insurgency, which is criminal, but we have political insurgency of misrule of Gov. Ibrahim Geidam of APC. “If Nigerians are blaming PDP for 16 years of misrule, we PDP of Yobe are blaming ANPP/APC for 16 years of misrule. If there is change, we will start the change from Yobe”.
The gubernatorial candidate of the PDP in Yobe in 2011 said the party was on course to redeem itself. “If we do the right thing just as we have started, I assure you that the seat we won 1999, we can still win it back”. The PDP chairman said he will soon be in the state to make sure all aggrieved members of the party are brought back. The two parties have been pointing accusing fingers at each other over the violence n the state during the Rivers rerun election. Governor Nyesom Wike of the state accused the APC of using federal power to intimidate and take charge of the state.
